Codes have been used throughout history whenever people wanted to keep messages private. In American history, George Washington sent coded messages to his agents, and members of the Continental Congress also encoded their documents.  Today, computers use various codes to operate and communicate.  This class will explore codes and ciphers from throughout history and introduce students to modern applications of codes in computer programming.  We will be making codes and breaking codes.  If you're up to the challenge of this math class, join Ms. Z. for Code Breakers.
