Throughout the 2011-2012 school year, Hazelwood West Middle School will be involved in many activities that support both our local and school communities. We are planning to support a local animal shelter in October through our National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), hold a food drive in support of local families in November through our Student Council and in December, hold a drive to support our local Crisis Nursery for children who need a safe place to stay.
We will be collecting stuffed animals for the STL Dream Factory again this year. We will run the collection from Monday November 28 until Friday December 16th. I will set up the pick up day for late that Friday afternoon or for that Monday (December 19th) in the afternoon.
November 1-11-Canned Food Drive
November 12-20-Toiletries Drive
In February, we are planning “We Love our School” activities through our after-school programming. Students and their staff sponsors will plan activities around our school to beautify our already stellar building. Additionally, in February, we will support “Hoops for Hearts” through our physical education classes and raise money for the American Heart Association. If you have any other great ideas on how we can support our school and/or community, please contact Dr. Klouse at (314) 953-7801.
